a lil poem about the snail🐌... yellow and blue, like the sun setting into the ocean the spiral, like the path of life starting from the center, unfurling like a seed, slow and steady like the snail traveling along, often merry, often not on the journey, many things are felt. Named after an old man—Giuseppe of the mountain, a farmer I learned from in my youth singing ‘piano, piano’ as we helped him plant a field with squash ‘la vita e bella’*, he’d also sing profound memories deeply impressioned on my heart. On a hard day like today, it helps to close my eyes and remember those moments- the youth, the mountain, the old man, the slow path I’ve traveled since eleven and one half years down the road except the road looks like this: 🌀 Tell me what you see when you close your eyes…
